Vice President Kamala Harris has faced accusations of exacerbating the inflation crisis during a heated exchange on "The Breakfast Club."
In a recent episode of "The Breakfast Club," Vice President Kamala Harris found herself facing criticism from Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) over her role in the current economic downturn. Donalds accused Harris of being responsible for the inflation crisis plaguing the U.S., alleging that her tie-breaking vote on the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act in 2021 had a detrimental impact on the economy.
Donalds asserted that experts had warned of the inflationary effects of the American Rescue Plan, which he claims led to a surge in prices and a decline in inflation-adjusted wages. He argued that Harris' vote played a pivotal role in creating the current cost-of-living crisis.

"She broke the economy," Donalds declared. "This inflation, which by the way was brought to us by Kamala Harris, has really slowed people down from being able to excel."
Despite guest-host Angela Rye's dismissal of Donalds' claims, he insisted that his assertions were supported by facts. He presented a pamphlet of "facts" to back up his argument, claiming that the American Rescue Plan had a "massive" impact on inflation.

Donalds' accusations prompted a heated exchange with the hosts, who questioned his logic and the relevance of his arguments. He countered by asking co-host DJ Envy if he would hire someone who had broken a house to fix more houses, implying that Harris should not be entrusted with managing the economy given her alleged role in causing the inflation crisis.
"She broke the economy," he reiterated.

Rye, however, rejected Donalds' claims as "not true" and accused him of engaging in a politically motivated attack against Harris.
Donalds maintained that he was basing his statements on facts and that he was eager to have a fact-based discussion. He later posted a clip of the exchange on Twitter, reiterating his belief that Harris' vote had led to inflation and caused a cost-of-living crisis for Americans.
The Harris campaign did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
Meanwhile, President Biden has dismissed assertions that the American Rescue Plan's spending contributed to inflation, calling such claims "bizarre." Former President Trump, however, has repeatedly blamed the "massive inflation" on the "Biden-Harris administration."
As the debate over the causes of inflation continues, the accusations against Vice President Harris highlight the complex and multifaceted nature of the issue.
